Tank is a tiny, rust-orange field mouse with a white tummy, little round ears and a long tail that knows how to hold on tight. He carries a denim pocket everywhere he goes, torn from an old pair of overalls. And in it, there is always exactly the little thing someone needs: a seed, a button, a piece of string.
Tank is always the first to volunteer, and always for the biggest job on the farm. A hay bale to push? A gate to open? “Stand back. I've got this!” Sometimes the giant thing doesn't budge. So Tank tries again, a different way.
And Tank has a secret talent. When rain is coming, the tips of his whiskers curl. Nobody sees a single cloud. Tank is sure. And then… it rains.
Tank’s own story is on the way. No date yet, but he has already volunteered.
You might be a little like Tank if…
- …you're always the first to say “I'll do it!”
- …your pockets are full of little treasures.
- …you're sure you can carry it all by yourself.
For grown-ups
Tank volunteers first and says “I've got this!” before anyone has finished asking. When something won't budge, he cheerfully tries another way. And his pocket always holds the one small thing the day needs.
Read together, then ask: What would you keep in your pocket, if you were Tank?
